How Wingfoil Progression Works
Each skill unlocks the next. You move forward only when your instructor sees consistent execution.
Wing handling on the beach
Grip, angle, power position. You drill these on the sand until they feel automatic. Essaouira's open beach gives you plenty of room to walk with the wing and feel how it catches gusts.
Standing on the board
Knees, hips, gaze. You practise standing on a large board in shallow water while the wing gives you a gentle forward pull. Sandy seabed, painless falls.
First foil flights
The wing generates enough speed to lift the foil. You focus on holding a steady height. Short flights at first, gradually longer as your balance locks in.
Direction changes
Tacking and jibing on foil. You learn to carry speed through turns and switch the wing without dropping off the foil.

Beginners
Never tried wingfoil
No foil, kite, or surf background needed. You start on the beach with the wing, then move to a large board in knee-deep water. Sandy coast, safe falls.
Intermediate
Board starts but short flights
You can generate lift but it collapses quickly. Sessions focus on weight placement, front-foot pressure, and reading the wing's power zone for longer rides.
Advanced
Sustained foiling, adding manoeuvres
